Gyan Devi Senior Secondary School, Sector 10, Gurugram, celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour on 15 August 2025. The occasion was graced by Group Captain Jitender Yadav as the Chief Guest, along with the esteemed presence of the School Chairman, Capt. J.S. Yadav and Pro-Chairman, Mr. Ashish Yadav. The celebration commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag, followed by the National Anthem.
The cultural programme unfolded with the welcome address by the School Principal, Ms. Sheena Yadav wherein she extended warm greetings to all dignitaries, guests, parents and students, and highlighted the significance of Independence Day in shaping responsible citizens. It was followed by a melodious patriotic song, thought-provoking skit showcasing India’s invaluable contributions to the world — including the invention of zero, the decimal system, Ayurveda, and yoga — instilling pride in the nation’s rich heritage. An energetic dance performance highlighting women’s remarkable contribution to the armed forces, inspired everyone.
The Prize Distribution Ceremony for the academic session 2024–25 honoured meritorious students from Classes VI to XI in categories such as Academic Excellence, Art, Dance, Music, and Sports. The Chief Guest, along with the Principal, presented trophies to the achievers, inspiring them to strive for greater heights.
In his address, Group Captain Jitender Yadav commended the school’s efforts in nurturing talent and instilling patriotism and discipline among students. The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks by the School Vice Principal, Ms. Arvinder Kaur followed by the school song.
The Primary Section also joined the patriotic celebrations with equal zeal. Young learners staged a lively role-play portraying eminent personalities, bringing history and contemporary inspiration to life. They also engaged in creative activities such as making tricolour headbands, flags and badges, expressing their love for the nation through art and imagination.
