"A book is a garden, an orchard, a storehouse, a party, a company by the way, a counselor, a multitude of counselors" - Charles Baudelaire.
With an aim to inculcate reading culture among the students as an enjoyable activity as well as to upgrade their LSRW skills, our school under the aegis of Ministry of Education organized 100 days reading campaign starting from 10th January 2022 to 16th April 2022 for classes III to VIII. This 14-week programme comprised of a set of activities in both the languages i.e. Hindi and English.
Reading should not be presented to children as a chore or duty. It should be offered to them as a precious gift. While keeping this objective in mind, the reading campaign not only included the students but also teachers and parents to cater to community learning. Teachers, parents and siblings helped the students in the development of their analytical thinking, critical thinking, and to foster creativity. The aim of the event was to help the students express themselves both verbally and in writing through various activities. As per the schedule, one activity per week was selected for one age group bearing in mind the primary aim of making reading enjoyable and helping them make books their best friends.
All the students enjoyed this 100 Days Reading Campaign and learnt a lot . This campaign rightly proved the maxim - "The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go."
