XX Annual Convention (GPSC) 12/02/22

GPSC organised its XX Annual Conference, "Pathway to Education 5.0 With a Focus on Creativity" virtually. More than 300 principals, teachers, and students from 45 member schools of GPSC Gurugram attended the convention. The event commenced with an Honour March where the Head Boys and Head Girls of all the member schools marched with their school flags. "Imagination is more important than knowledge because imagination is the only thing that can open up our minds and our hearts to the possible, to the successful and fulfilling future we all envision for ourselves and our students." With this opening note Ms Rupa Chakravarty, GPSC Chairperson threw light on this year's theme. The conference  was further divided into five sessions.

The first Session started with lighting of the holy lamp by Sister Shivani. She further carried on the session by defining the term creativity first and then accentuating the fact that children need to develop their EQ also in order to survive in this fast paced world. She further encouraged everyone to cater to the emotional needs of children by providing them with a healthy diet or content that reduces their stress and anxiety. Session 2 started off with an Invocation dance: 'Samarpan' by the students of G.D. Goenka School. It was followed by the Inaugural address by Ms Rashmi Malik, GPSC Treasurer on behalf of Mr Manoj Ahuja, Chairman CBSE. Session 3 based on the sub theme 'Leading the Way' saw the panelists discussing how creativity is the need of the hour so that the students can succeed in every aspect of life. The member schools showcased beautiful posters and videos under the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' initiative. It was followed by a melodious song 'Srijan Shakti' by the students of member schools. Session 4: Fireside tete-a-tete highlighted that the main purpose of education should be to prepare the students to thrive in the real world. This can be only achieved through collaboration and developing cognitive thinking. Then the GPSC yearbook was launched. The mantra for Session 5 was to bring in all the stakeholders together in a Roundtable discussion so as to find ways to understand how to evolve, adapt to the current scenario and adopt technology to aid creativity. Mr Anil Srinivasan conducted an interactive session for the participants not involved in the Roundtable Discussion.

Last but not the least Ms Charu Maini, Vice Chairperson, GPSC expressed her gratitude to all and put forth the Vote of thanks by quoting - ‘All these young minds are like stars looking to find their own light, we can show them how to shine by using their own creativity.'
