A workshop on Effective Classroom Teaching and Counselling was conducted by Mr. Deepak Dhawan, our ex-student, on 26th October 2024, in the Kalawati Auditorium. All teachers from Classes Nursery to XII attended the workshop.
The workshop emphasized the integration of pedagogical strategies with emotional support to enhance student learning, thus creating a positive classroom environment where students feel safe and valued. This fosters engagement and motivation. Mr. Deepak Dhawan also highlighted the importance of differentiated instructions, recognizing diverse learning styles and needs of different students.
He also added that by establishing open communication and building trust, educators can help students navigate personal issues that may hinder their learning. Overall, he emphasized a holistic approach that combines effective teaching practices with compassionate counselling, aiming for the comprehensive development of students.
In addition to the IQ (Intelligence Quotient) of students, Mr Dhawan also stressed on the importance of EQ (Emotional Quotient) and CQ (Creative Quotient). According to him, IQ is not the determining factor for success. Success depends more on EQ. Teachers should thus strive to work on the EQ and CQ of students.
