On 30th December 2023, the students of Classes VIII and IX organized a function, 'Enlightenment - from Darkness to Light', which aimed to spread a message of hope, compassion, love and kindness through various acts.
The function commenced with the traditional ritual of lighting the holy lamp by honourable Chairman Sir and MD Ma'am.
The first act of the function was an English play, 'The Bishop's Candlesticks', which highlighted the power of forgiveness and redemption and the triumph of love and kindness over violence.
'The Heart of the Gita' was the central theme of the next act, as it focused on the eternal struggle between right and wrong and the unyielding call to do one's duty without any expectation.
The final act of the function was about the Enlightenment of Gautam Buddha and how his teachings influenced Emperor Ashoka, who changed from a battle-hungry warrior to a peace loving ruler.
The function concluded with a speech by Principal Ma'am, followed by Chairman Sir's address to the gathering. Sir appreciated the efforts of the students and staff. He emphasized the significance of empathy, compassion and forgiveness in creating a harmonious society.
Vice Principal Ma'am then proposed the Vote of Thanks and the function ended with the National Anthem.
