Cross – Country Run

As per Health and Physical Education guidelines, a cross–country run for the students of Classes I – XII was organised on 25 -11-23. The students atook part in this  cross–country run with great enthusiasm.

There were three categories of students who took part in the race. Students of Classes I – II ran a distance of 500 metres, students of Classes IV – VI ran 1000 metres, while students of Classes VII – XII ran 2000 metres.

The cross–country race was organised at Leisure Valley, Sector -29, Gurugram. The tracks were marked out according to the category of students. Teachers stood  all along the tracks, to ensure that the students ran on the correct track and did not take any shortcuts.

Before starting the run, students were made to do warm-up exercises. Then the whistle sounded and the students set off for their designated run. It was seen that the junior-most students were the most enthusiastic and keen on the run. They ran the entire distance and appeared to enjoy it.

The middle category of students also ran well, but appeared to tire at the end. The senior-most students however, lacked stamina and almost walked the last few metres. It has been decided that cross-country runs, class wise, will be carried out regularly so that students can build on their endurance and stamina .
