On 29th October 2022, the YUVA Tourism Club of the school organised a one-day educational trip to the National War Memorial, India Gate and Kartavya Path, for all teachers and students of Classes VI to VIII. Chairman Sir too, accompanied the students.
The National War Memorial is a national monument built to honour and remember soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces who fought in various armed conflicts and operations and laid down their live for the country. Their names are inscribed on the memorial walls in golden letters.
The Memorial has 4 concentric circles and a central obelisk, at the bottom of which burns the 'eternal flame', representing the immortal soldier (Amar Jawan). The concentric circles are designed as a 'Chakravyuh', an ancient Indian war formation. These are as follows (from innermost to outermost)-
1. Amar Chakra (Circle of Immortality)
2. Veerta Chakra (Circle of Bravery)
3. Tyag Chakra (Circle of Sacrifice)
4. Raksha Chakra (Circle of Protection)
It was a wonderful trip where students got a feel of the patriotism of our brave soldiers and their sacrifices for the country.
