World Heritage Day was celebrated for the first time in the world in Tunisia on April 18, 1982. In 1983 it was decided by the UNESCO to celebrated this day every year on 18 April.
This year also, class X students observed World Heritage Day in school on 18th April 2022. This day is also known as the International Monuments and Sites day. This was spoken by Mouli Mandal in her speech. She also highlighted how ancient monuments and buildings are an asset to all nations around the world. Riya also spoke about the aim of celebrating this day- to spread awareness of the diversity of cultural heritage and the importance of preserving it for future generations. In their poems, Rishabh and Sneha also conveyed that India is a land of historical, religious and cultural artifacts. We should be proud of our heritage sites and should work towards their protection.
