Webinar – ‘Public Health Response to COVID – 19 Appropriate Behaviour’

A Webinar, ‘Public Health Response to COVID – 19 Appropriate Behaviour’, was conducted for students, parents and teachers, on October 17, 2020 on MS Teams, through a PowerPoint Presentation. This was in response to a campaign started by Ministry of Education, Government of India, to create awareness regarding appropriate behaviour during this pandemic.

The main focus of the webinar was to spread awareness and ensure that appropriate guidelines are followed by all students, teachers and parents to protect   themselves from the virus while leading an active and healthy life. The three main points highlighted were regarding the wearing of masks, maintaining physical distancing and washing hands with soap and water. The Importance of Aarogya Setu app. was also discussed. It was conveyed to parents that the school is taking all appropriate measures to ensure that students remain alert and vigilant during the pandemic, by starting the online classes with an audio message regarding the same. As Guidance Classes for X and XII have already started in school as per CBSE directives, the safety guidelines followed in school were shared with parents, so that they could send their children to school without any fear or apprehension.

It was also stressed that we should be extra careful during the oncoming festive season. We should avoid large gatherings and maintain social distancing to stem the spread of this disease. We should also be very careful about avoiding discrimination against Covid-19 patients and their families. The stigma against this disease should be removed at any cost. It is our moral duty to do so.

Finally, Helpline numbers were shared with all attendees and it was advised to seek immediate medical help if the need arose. The webinar ended with a few words by the Chairman, Capt. J.S. Yadav, who stressed on the need to stay safe and healthy by following all precautions. The Vote of Thanks was given by the Officiating Principal, Mrs. Manju Bala.
