Science in Action: Sink or Float? – A Hands-On Learning Activity

In our school, learning comes alive through exploration and play. Our young learners from Nursery, LKG, and UKG classes took part in an exciting Science Activity on Sink and Float on 29 July 2025.

The little scientists observed and experimented with a variety of everyday objects—such as spoons, paper, pencil, leaves, eraser and paper boat — to discover whether they would sink to the bottom or float on the surface of water. Using tubs filled with water, children made predictions, dropped items one by one, and observed the results with wide-eyed wonder.

This hands-on activity not only introduced them to basic scientific concepts but also encouraged critical thinking, vocabulary building, and collaborative learning.

To wrap up the session, a fun and interactive quiz was conducted where children enthusiastically answered questions based on their observations. It was heartwarming to see their confidence and joy as they recalled what they had just discovered.Through such playful experiences, we aim to nurture a lifelong love for learning in every child.
