Stranger can be dangerous

At our school, the safety of our little ones is our top priority. On 13 December 2024, through a role play we introduced the concept of "Stranger Danger" to help children understand how to stay safe around people they do not know.

The activity began with an explanation: who is a stranger? They were told that a stranger is someone they don’t know, even if the person is kind or looks friendly. Not all strangers are bad, but it’s important to be careful.

They were told about the important safety rules to be followed when in vicinity of a stranger.

Do not talk to strangers: If someone they don’t know speaks to them, they should not respond without checking with a trusted adult.

Never accept gifts or rides from strangers: This includes candy, toys, or any offers.

Stay close to trusted adults: Remain near parents, teachers, or caregivers in public places.

Next they were explained about - What to Do if Approached by a Stranger?

They were asked to always Remember the No, Go, Tell rule:

No: Say “No” loudly if someone makes them uncomfortable.

Go: Move away quickly to a safe place.

Tell: Inform a parent, teacher, or another trusted adult immediately.

The students were also told never to give out any personal information to strangers and also not to meet up with someone they don't know
