“Sound can paint a picture, produce a mood, trigger the senses to remember another time and place”
An interactive webinar on ‘Importance of Phonics in Early Grades’ was conducted by Mrs. Shweta Talwar on 6th June, 2020. The workshop aimed at innovative activity-based teaching of phonic sounds. The importance and use of phonics, various aspects of language development ( listening, speaking, reading and writing ) and activities and games that can be conducted with children to strengthen their vocabulary were demonstrated. She explained that story telling also plays a vital role in polishing one’s command over a language. Introduction to blends, digraphs, syllables and brain gyms activities helped the teachers to understand the value of simple activities that can help the students to learn and speak the language better. The webinar enabled the teachers to learn new techniques of teaching the students to read and write as early as possible with ease. It proved to be an enriching workshop for the teachers.
