The students of Class XI hosted a grand farewell function for Class XII students on 4th February 2017. A unique welcome was accorded to the beautifully and smartly attired students of Class XII, followed by the traditional ‘Passing the Light of Knowledge’ ceremony. The school flag was then ceremoniously handed over to the prospective Head of the Student Council for the session 2017-2018. This was followed by an enjoyable cultural extravaganza comprising dances, songs, exciting games and a graceful ramp walk which made it possible to choose the best-dressed and most graceful students. Appropriate titles were then given to the outgoing students, culminating in the declaration of Miss GDPS and Mr. GDPS. The thrill and excitement on their faces was palpable as the students received their mementoes and gifts, along with a copy of the Bhagwad Gita each. On their part, the seniors then read out beautifully composed poems thanking their teachers for supporting and encouraging them and shaping them to be such confident youngsters. In their farewell speeches, they thanked their juniors too and spoke about what the school meant to them. The function ended with a speech by Chairman Sir, who told them to always go through life with a smile on their faces. This would help them to face the world with a more positive attitude. They must also always remember the values imparted to them in their school, as these would help them become good human beings.
