The Sanskrit Shlok Chanting Competition was the first Inter-school competition to be held in our school on 28th October 2017. Nine schools participated in this competition which was based on moral values or ‘Naitik Mulya’. The shlokas, which are a vast store house of wisdom and values, were recited beautifully by all the participants. Values such as compassion, love, honesty, integrity, forbearance and tolerance were touched upon in the shlokas. DAV Public School Sec -49 won the First Prize in the competition. Our school stood Second while Gyan Devi Middle School, Sec-10 stood Third. However, being the host school, we passed on the prizes to the schools which were next, i.e. Salwan Public School and CCA School. It was a keenly contested competition and the three judges, Dr. Sudha Rani, Dr. Richa Gupta and Ms. Mohita Bhatnagar, had a difficult time awarding marks to the participants.

Chairman Sir and MD ma’am then addressed the audience and conveyed their congratulations to all the participants for their wonderful performance. They also spoke about the importance of the Sanskrit language in the development of other languages.

The programme ended with refreshments and wonderful memories of the melodious shlokas which imparted a wealth of wisdom and values to one and all.
