Earth Day was celebrated in school on 22nd April 2017, with great zeal and enthusiasm. Students of the Eco Club spoke about the urgency of keeping the earth clean and green, so that life can be sustained on this planet. The harmful effects of environmental pollution were emphasized. A pledge was taken by all students and teachers to look after Mother Earth and prevent it from getting destroyed by man’s harmful activities. The function culminated with the planting of saplings in the school compound. Students also placed earthen vessels filled with water, in different corners of the school campus, so that birds could quench their thirst in the hot weather. Students showed sensitivity to the need of caring for the earth in any little way possible for them. They all understood that a little step in the right direction goes a long way in the quest for achieving a larger goal.
